Now, Smart clothing from Apple

Apple is exploring ways to further integrate smart technology into our daily lives. A recently awarded patent reveals their creation of a touch-sensitive fabric, designed to house wearable tech devices that can monitor gestures.

The patent, in typical fashion, aims to encompass all possible applications of the technology. As such, the range of devices that could utilize fabric controls extends beyond merely an Apple Watch. The patent suggests that the technology could be integrated into clothing pieces, fashion accessories, purses, upholstery, home textiles, and additional items that might contain a fabric component or element.

However, it’s more probable that Apple will concentrate the technology on an Apple Watch band rather than entirely fabricating a smart shirt. Other potential applications could be a seat cover for the long-speculated Apple Car, or perhaps the armrest of your sofa could be used to operate an Apple TV.

Apple applies for numerous patents, but not all materialize into complete products. Hence, the chances of seeing an Apple iShirt or iBelt in the near future are slim. However, the concept of an iBelt is intriguing, albeit a bit unconventional at this stage. Still, it’s always exciting to ponder about the potential progression of technology.   Read More
